Looking for a home for sale on the North Shore? Or do you just like to ogle pictures of gorgeous real estate? Each week, Patch features North Shore Wow Homes that fits the bill.

Today's installment is a $1.7 million Evanston home at 2700 Lincoln St., built in 1911 and designed by Dwight Perkins, a noted Prairie School architect who worked with Frank Lloyd Wright.

The three-story, 5,000-square-foot home has six bedrooms and four-and-a-half baths, and is located on 1/3 acre in north central Evanston.

Prairie School details include 80 architectural windows to bring the "outside in," as well as crown molding, hardwood floors and period lighting. The living room features a wood-burning fireplace with oak mantel, while the formal dining room contains the original built-in wood buffet and china cabinets. Frank Lloyd Wright light fixtures adorn the hallway.

A family room with 12.5' vaulted ceilings is a new addition to the back of the home, which also has a fireplace as well as multiple views of the landscaped backyard.
