Animal advocate Adrianne Grade wants to make sure aging dogs and cats have a good home to live out the rest of their lives.
The Highland Park native, a former urology nurse with experience caring for the elderly, created the Rover Grade Finally Home Animal Sanctuary in 2009. The charity is named for Grade's dog Rover, who died in 2000.
Grade currently cares for the animals in her five-acre Hawthorne Woods home, but plans to build a shelter adjacent to her property, according to the Highland Park News.
She is seeking donations to help her do it.
