The North Shore community is invited to attend the LUNGevity Foundation's "Breathe Deep Yogathon" at the Illinois Bone & Joint Institute in Highland Park from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23.
The event will offer six classes, each featuring a different yoga style, taught by local well-known instructors. Massages, Reiki treatments, and refreshments will also be provided, and the day will end with an inspirational and healing gong bath.

LUNGevity funds the most promising research into the early detection and successful treatment of lung cancer, according to their Website. LUNGevity also supports the largest national grassroots lung cancer network, as well as the largest online support community for those affected by lung cancer.
Last December, Deerfield High School's annual School Chest charity drive raised a record setting $135,393.17 for LUNGevity’s effort to fight lung cancer, as reported by Patch. The three-week effort included a 5K race, a dinner gala, talent competitions, a basketball tournament and more.
