Highland Park’s Landmark Renaissance Theaters will close March 8 for three months of renovation, which will include stadium seating and a dining option with alcohol, according to a source affiliated with the company.
With the fate of the Highland Park Theatre still unknown, the three month hiatus leaves patrons of independent films with the option of going to Evanston or Chicago for that style movie. Could there be a more local option?

There was a four-screen theater in the Deerbrook Mall that closed over 20 years ago. A visit to the back of the mall will reveal a mesh gate in front of the former theater entrance enabling people to see the old concession stand.
