I write this letter in support of Stacey Meyer's candidacy for the District 113 School Board. Stacey is a Deerfield resident and mother of a DHS student. Stacey's professional experience, understanding of a broad spectrum of educational issues and ability to effectively collaborate with whomever she interacts make her perfectly suited to help the district navigate the many challenges it will face in the coming years. As Program Director for the Schuler Scholar Program, Stacey has the responsibility of working with eight distinct school districts, and through this work has amassed critical insight as to how districts can maintain rigor while being sensitive to students from a wide range of backgrounds and with varying academic needs. If elected to the board, Stacey will provide a unique perspective and help ensure that proper consideration continues to be given to ideas and actions that are based upon fact and reason, not opinion and self-interest.
Prior to Schuler, Stacey was the Director of Marketing Research for Quaker Oats/Pepsico where she mastered the ability to listen to and understand the consumer. She probed for details,asked "why" and "to what end" and scrutinized data. As a member of the school board, Stacey will apply the same approach when working with the board's constituents, that includes students and their families, educators and other school employees and community members at large.
Throughout her career, fiscal responsibility has been embedded in Stacey's decision making process. As a board member she will ensure that financial decisions are made in a transparent way and resources used wisely.
It is critical that we elect the most qualified and capable people to the District 113 School Board. On April 9 please cast a vote for Stacey Meyer
