Special Ed Programs Awarded for Best Practices

Wilmot Elementary School's fifth-grade ESL Buddies program in Deerfield District 109, and Jordan's Corner at Warehouse Gym in Highland Park, have been named recipients of the Northern Suburban Special Education District (NSSED) Association of Parents and Staff (APS) 12th annual Best Practices Initiatives.

An awards reception featuring teacher and student presentations will be held 9:30-11:30 a.m. at North Shore Academy, 760 Red Oak Lane, in Highland Park.

The annual NSSED event showcases outstanding programs and educators demonstrating leadership and innovation in promoting the understanding and inclusion of individuals with special needs. Each year, parents submit school and community programs that represent best practices of inclusion and community for special eduction children.
