The Piccadilly Circus is coming to town, and not everyone thinks it's just good fun.
PETA, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, has lodged complaints with the USDAalleging Piccadilly Circus handlers had abused animals, reported the Lake County Journal. The circus has denied the allegations.
Last year, the USDA issued the circus a warning about how animals should be cared for in light of an incident in which a zebra died, reported the Daily Herald.
Piccadilly Circus will be held Wednesday and Thursday at the Lake County Fairgrounds at 1060 E. Peterson Road, in Grayslake. Performances are scheduled for 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
