One of two Deerfield teenage criminal suspects charged as adults for burglaries in Highland Park and Deerfield makes his first court appearance at 1:30 p.m. Monday for a scheduled arraignment in Lake County Court in Waukegan.
Joseph Mahoney and Josh Norris, both 17, of Deerfield were originally arrested August 3 for home invasion when they allegedly entered a Highland Park home on the 3000 block of Parkside. They were also charged with illegally entering a Deerfield residence August 2 to take the gun used in the August 3 events.
Mahoney is scheduled to appear in court Monday. Norris first appeared in court August 15 when his case was continued to Sept. 27 at 9 a.m. in Waukegan, according to Assistant Lake County State’s Attorney Ari Fisz.
Two weeks later, an occupant of the Highland Park home, Jacob Lynn, 17, was arrested for possession of marijuana with intent to deal. An attorney for Mahoney has said the cases are related.
