On Monday, September 24, 2012 at approximately 12:42 a.m., Highland Park Fire and Police personnel responded to a structure fire involving a single story residence in the 1700 block of Midland Avenue, Highland Park.

The Lake County coroner identified the body found in a burned out Highland Park house last month as that of Giacomo Ruggirello, the Highland Park News reports.

At approximately 12:42 a.m. on Sept. 25, Highland Park Fire and Police responded to a fire on the 1700 block of Midland Avenue in Highland Park. Fire fighters from Highwood, Glencoe, Lake Forest and Northbrook also helped to extinguish the blaze, which spread to the roof next-door.

Neighbors of the razed house told the Highland Park News the identity of the man in the fire was likely Giacomo Ruggirello, who has owned the Trattoria Giacomo Restaurant in Highwood since 1998.

Lake County Coroner Artis Yancey told the Highland Park News on Tuesday that Ruggirello’s cause of death has not been released yet, as he's still waiting on reports from the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
