After more than a year of campaigning and millions of dollars spent, the voters of the 10th Congressional District will decide today if Rep. Robert Dold (R-Kenilworth) will continue to represent them or the job will go to Democratic Challenger Brad Schneider of Deerfield.
Voters will also choose the whether West Deerfield Township Supervisor Julie Morrison, a Democrat, or Republican Highland Park pediatrician Arie Friedman will succeed retiring state Sen. Susan Garrett (D-Lake Forest).

As soon as the polls close at 7 p.m. today, Patch will start posting results until there is a winner in all races.
Before the polls opened at 6 a.m. today, 100,269 people had already voted in Lake County through in person early voting or by mail, according to Lake County Clerk Willard Helander. This is an increase from 83,828 four years ago.
Schneider planned to vote a with his sons, both voting in their first Presidential election, as soon as the polls open at Red Oak School in Highland Park. Dold voted early.
Morrison also took advantage of early voting while Friedman plans to cast his ballot at Ravinia School in Highland Park this morning. After that all four will be active throughout their districts through the day.
Meanwhile, Patch readers had an overwhelming choice for the most negative commercial in the 10th District race based on a poll published Saturday. They picked one that attacked Schneider for wanting to raise taxes while failing to disclose his income tax returns. It is included with this article.
On Monday, some 10th District voters received an automated telephone call from former President Bill Clinton encouraging they cast a ballot for Schneider.
Dold continued his Working Together bus tour of the district with a detour to Chicago's Olgivie Transportation Cebter Monday afternoon to greet voters heading home from work.
