The person found dead in the woods in Antioch this morning was missing Waukegan police officer Sgt. Peter Michaels, according to the Waukegan News- Sun.
Michaels, 44, had been missing since Tuesday.
No foul play was suspected, according to the Chicago Tribune. The search this morning was joined by about 120 community members.
Michaels was a resident of Tiffany Farms subdivision in Antioch, according to the News-Sun.

Lake County Sheriff's Office Highway Patrol found a deceased body in a wooded area of north Antioch this morning, according to a news release from the Lake County Sheriff's Office.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office Highway Patrol took part in a multijurisdictional search party for a missing subject at 8 a.m. this morning, according to the release. The search party began in the area of West North Avenue and North Trevor Road in Antioch and continued through a heavily wooded area.
At approximately 9 a.m., officers located a deceased body in a seating area in the woods. The scene was secured and the jurisdiction was confirmed to be unincorporated Lake County. Lake County Detectives are enroute for the investigation, according to the news release.
The Lake County Coroner’s Office will be handling the identification of the deceased pending proper notifications.
The incident remains under investigation. Further information will be released as it becomes available, according to the news release.
