Spending the day clearing the Wilmot Woods Forest Preserve with Rep. Robert Dold (R-Kenilworth) are from left Heather Decker of the forest preserve staff, Jeff Salvadore of Wilmette, Andre Gonzalez of Libertyville, Matt Epstien of Northbrook, Corrine Smith of Long Grove, Jordan Richter of Buffalo Grove, staff member and Deerfield High School graduate Dan Serota, Dold, Emily Banks of Libertyville, Ed Loos of Lake Forest, Zack Lubelfeld of Buffalo Grove, and Mitch Boyton of Libertyville.

Rep. Robert Dold (R-Kenilworth) took his staff and interns for a day in the woods July 28 and the Congressman did not plan it to be a picnic.

The staffers, interns and Congressman entered Wilmot Woods in Libertyville with saws and clippers to clear trails in the forest preserve. Dold is no stranger to this kind of environment.

“As an Eagle Scout and Scoutmaster, I believe that it is important to give back to the communities in which we live,” Dold said. “I am proud of the Northbrook office for volunteering to clean up our local trails so that area residents can enjoy the natural beauty that we are surrounded by.”

Dold is running for reelection against Democrat Brad Schneider of Deerfield. A few weeks ago Schneider’s interns were taking some extra time to make videos to help communicate what they are doing in the campaign.
