Rep. Robert Dold (R-Kenilworth) took his staff and interns for a day in the woods July 28 and the Congressman did not plan it to be a picnic.
The staffers, interns and Congressman entered Wilmot Woods in Libertyville with saws and clippers to clear trails in the forest preserve. Dold is no stranger to this kind of environment.
“As an Eagle Scout and Scoutmaster, I believe that it is important to give back to the communities in which we live,” Dold said. “I am proud of the Northbrook office for volunteering to clean up our local trails so that area residents can enjoy the natural beauty that we are surrounded by.”
Dold is running for reelection against Democrat Brad Schneider of Deerfield. A few weeks ago Schneider’s interns were taking some extra time to make videos to help communicate what they are doing in the campaign.
